Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own vehicle. The "mood station" lets guests pick images that inspire them. Bentley estimates it takes approximately 500 man-hours in order to create and assemble the average Mulsanne. The unwillingness to embrace new technology is the key to this laborious task. Instead of employing a machine for spacers to the perfectly-matched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of using the car's built-in sensors to guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spots, drivers have to do it by hand.
The event also saw Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization capabilities by presenting one of a kind that was the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays homage to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars include a key that displays a piece of the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
